Juniper our 2022 Ford Transit Conversion (all the tech info!)
Meet Juniper, an all season, all wheel drive Ford Transit, designed with all the off road capabilities and home comforts to keep the adventures going all year long.
The van itself we selected to include an upgraded ‘adventure prep’ package from Ford Transit, and she was ready to take on anything with full AWD and all season tires, an upgraded 3.5 later eco boost, 3.73..1 limited slip differential and heavy duty front axel. the package includes an upgraded dash and audio system with 8 inch touch screen and usb charging as well as adaptive cruise control, blind spot information system, side sensing and reverse cameras and privacy glass.
When converting this van we wanted to include everything you could need for life on the road. We included a full battery system, 7.5Kwh Lifepo4 Lithium Batteries, 400w Solar an all in one inverter charger and Victron 30A Battery-Battery Charger to also charge the batteries while driving as well as a shore power charger. Three ways to charge means you can stay off grid for days. And with a 30 gallon fresh water tank as well as Bosch hot water tank there is water capabilities for plenty of cooking, washing up and showering.
Heating wise we included both underfloor heating through an in floor radiant heating loop, as well as an Espar hydronic furnace located under the van. Took the van out for many test trips including camping in -30C and we stayed warm and cozy. This van is a full tiny home on wheels with full size queen bed, and bunk windows either side of the bed to take in those mountain views. A full kitchen includes a large pull out pantry, tons of cupboard space and 1800w induction stove cooktop. The Fridge is a Dometic CRX 65, and there is a large sink with mixer faucet for hot or cold water.
We have designed a custom pull down shower unit, with a large shower tray, which can also store a toilet. The shower tray becomes a comfortable seat when not in use, and a Lagun table and two swivel seats make a comfortable area to work or relax. 120v double plug sockets and 12v usb sockets throughout the van make working on the road a breeze.
A key design feature in this van is the bespoke steam bent oak ceiling, with led strip lighting. This ceiling was a true labour of love, (read: took 6 weeks of solid work to build) with each strip of oak custom bent to the exact curves of the van. We chose a modern dark green colour palette to bring west coast vibes to this stylish van.
The van is completed with a large garage with enclosed water and electrical cabinets to keep things tidy. The bed we designed at a height to allow space for mountain bikes underneath (an essential when adventuring in BC).
This van is a one of a kind, fully specced out adventure van, designed for adventures all year long. There are enough home comforts to make living on the road full time a breeze, or to be an adventure mobile for trips near and far.
Several of the pieces in this van are available as kit options, but if you are looking for something a little more custom, like this van build was, contact us today. We love working with clients to design something truly special and get more adventure vans out on the road!
